The Broadcaster: A Place You’ll Want to Go Back To in West London

Some restaurants feed you well; others give you something to talk about long after you’ve left. The Broadcaster, overlooking White City’s iconic Television Centre, comfortably falls into the second category. With its relaxed buzz, stylish spaces and open views across West London, it’s the kind of place that feels easy to enjoy without trying too hard.

One of the first things that caught my attention was the wine selection. The Broadcaster serves an exclusive range that feels fun and approachable rather than overthought, with bottles like FrolicFrenchieTinted Glasses Rosé, and the standout Ooh La La, a Sauvignon Blanc that genuinely lives up to its name.

I also liked that the drinks offering goes beyond wine. There’s a well-thought-out 0% cocktail menu, which is refreshing to see done properly rather than as an afterthought. Options include Winter Spice and Ever After, but the Palomita was my favourite - it’s crisp, balanced and genuinely enjoyable, something I’d happily order again.

What I also appreciated is that there are options for everyone. Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian or simply want something comforting and well cooked, the menu makes it easy to order without compromise. They even offer a vegan full roast option, which is still surprisingly rare, making it a great choice for mixed groups.

I started the meal with warm baked sourdough, served with truffle butter that melted instantly, followed by burrata with truffle honey, walnuts and trompettes mushrooms: rich, earthy and indulgent in the best way.

For the main course, I took the staff’s recommendation and went for the grilled yellowfin tuna from the charcoal grill, served with kohlrabi, winter squash and courgettes. Perfectly cooked and full of flavour, it’s easily a must-try. If you’re after a vegetarian option, the wild mushroom and spelt risotto is just as satisfying and well worth ordering.

Dessert was the ideal way to finish. The hazelnut and chocolate tart felt indulgent without being heavy and rounded off the meal beautifully.

Oh, and did I mention they have a rooftop? Because they do, and it’s a really good one. If you want to see the lights of West London without freezing, The Broadcaster’s enclosed winter rooftop is ideal. It’s warm, cosy and completely sheltered, with floor-to-ceiling glass so you still get the skyline views. Blankets and subtle heating make it easy to linger, and once the city lights come on, it’s hard to want to leave.

With great food, exclusive wines, and a space that feels just as good to sit in as it does to eat in, The Broadcaster proves itself as more than just a neighbourhood restaurant; it’s a place you’ll want to come back to, especially on cold winter nights.
