MYBA Charter Show 2025: Sanremo Reasserts Its Prestige as a Global Yachting Destination

From 28 April to 1 May 2025, the city of Sanremo, on the Italian Riviera, hosted the 35th edition of the MYBA Charter Show, reaffirming its role as a central destination in the international yachting calendar. The event’s return to this emblematic Mediterranean setting underscored Sanremo’s unique balance between heritage, technical infrastructure, and quiet refinement — qualities that have long defined the city as a natural stage for high-level gatherings.

This year’s edition was held at the historic Porto di Portosole, one of the most respected marinas in the Mediterranean. Renowned for its strategic location and ability to host large superyachts, Portosole is not only a hub of nautical activity but a symbol of enduring maritime tradition. Its proximity to Sanremo’s elegant town centre and reputation for premium services make it a silent protagonist in the prestige and rhythm of the city.

A total of 69 superyachts were in attendance, among 81 registered, drawing 1,795 professionals, including 739 brokers and central agents, as well as international shipyards, service providers, and leading yachting media.

This was my first experience attending the MYBA Charter Show — an engaging and enriching debut, made possible at the kind invitation of West Coast International, a company I had the pleasure of discovering last year during a trip to Sicily, where I was first introduced to their work in the yachting sector. With a European base and strong presence in strategic destinations, West Coast International is recognised for its excellence in charter, sales, and yacht management, always with a bespoke and discreet approach.

In Sanremo, West Coast presented the yacht Alexander M., a vessel that stood out not only for its design and quality, but also as the chosen location for a private welcome gathering hosted by the company on the event’s opening day. Guests were welcomed on board in an atmosphere of warmth and understatement — a reflection of the brand’s identity and commitment to detail.

The MYBA Charter Show is more than a technical showcase — it is a stage for strategic dialogue, relationship-building, and the presentation of evolving standards in luxury navigation. Whether aboard vessels, in discreet meetings, or during carefully planned appointments, the tone of the event reflected the very essence of refined nautical culture.

Sanremo, meanwhile, played its role with quiet assurance. A city of gentle climate, historical character, manicured gardens and timeless light, it offered not just a setting, but a distinctive identity to the show. Portosole, seamlessly integrated into the landscape between land and sea, stood as a symbol of the city’s ability to combine tradition with contemporary sophistication.

The MYBA Charter Show 2025 confirmed that in the world of high-end yachting, the true essence lies not in excess, but in coherence — between values, environment, relationships and experience. In Sanremo, that harmony was not announced. It was simply felt — with clarity, restraint and quiet confidence.
