The Best Looks from the Met Gala 2025

This Monday night (5th May), the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York hosted another unforgettable edition of the Met Gala 2025, the most anticipated event in the fashion calendar.

Celebrities from across the globe stepped onto the red carpet wearing standout creations by major fashion houses, in a celebration of culture, identity, and creativity through tailoring.

This year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”, was the first since 2003 to focus exclusively on menswear. It paid homage to the history of black dandyism and Black tailoring, spotlighting elegance, originality, and representation.

The dress code? Made-to-measure pieces full of personality. Here’s our pick of the best looks of the night:

Zendaya in white Louis Vuitton tailoring

Zendaya, always one of the most anticipated red carpet arrivals, stunned in a cream zoot suit by Louis Vuitton, complete with wide-brimmed hat. A touch of red on her nails sealed the look with effortless elegance. Timeless and powerful.

Lewis Hamilton in Wales Bonner

Co-chair of the evening, Lewis Hamilton chose a refined cream ensemble by British designer Wales Bonner. He accessorised the look with a side-tilted beret and a detailed pearl brooch — a masterclass in style, creativity, and cultural pride.

Lauryn Hill in sculptural yellow

Making her Met Gala debut, Lauryn Hill wowed in a head-to-toe yellow look featuring a wrap blazer and wide-leg trousers. The standout detail? A dramatic cape that curved like a crown around her natural afro. Regal and unforgettable.

Janelle Monáe in Paul Tazewell with Thom Browne

Janelle Monáe brought her signature flair to the carpet in a colourful, trompe l’oeil tailored ensemble designed by costume designer Paul Tazewell in collaboration with Thom Browne. Bold, playful, and intricately detailed — she was a walking artwork.

Rihanna in Marc Jacobs

Always fashionably late, Rihanna closed the evening in a chalk-stripe look by Marc Jacobs. A black velvet hat and the reveal of her pregnancy made this appearance one of the night’s most talked-about moments. She never misses.

Cynthia Erivo in Givenchy

Cynthia Erivo, known for her unapologetic style, stunned in a dramatic Givenchy look. Featuring a black corset, voluminous tulle skirt, and crystal-studded sleeves, the outfit brought gothic glamour and divine confidence to the carpet.

Doja Cat in Marc Jacobs

Doja Cat once again pushed fashion boundaries in a hybrid blazer-body suit by Marc Jacobs. Mixing bold prints and unusual structure, the look mirrored her fearless artistic spirit — a perfect fit for the Met Gala’s experimental edge.

Doechii in checked Louis Vuitton

First-time attendee Doechii made a strong entrance in a checked tailored ensemble by Louis Vuitton. Featuring shorts, a blazer and knee-high socks, the look cleverly blended classic tailoring with streetwear cool. Fully on theme.

Sabrina Carpenter in deep red Louis Vuitton

Sabrina Carpenter, one of pop’s rising stars, wore a burgundy body suit with a pinstriped blazer that was cropped at the front and extended into a dramatic tail at the back. The look was both seductive and elegant — a balance she masters.

Colman Domingo in textured Valentino

Colman Domingo stood out in a monochrome Valentino suit rich in textures and print. With bold shapes and maximalist details, his look proved that menswear can be just as expressive and luxurious.

Joey King in bold green

Joey King opted for a striking green suit, elevated by mirrored embellishments and structured tailoring. Minimalist in cut but maximal in presence, her look delivered standout appeal in a sea of strong contenders.

Bad Bunny in mocha Prada

Bad Bunny made a case for brown as the new black in a fully monochromatic mocha moussePrada look. With gloves, hat, and a matching hand-held bag, the theatrical flair and careful styling made it one of the night’s best-dressed moments.

A historic and visually powerful Met Gala

The 2025 edition of the Met Gala was a celebration of creativity, heritage, and Black excellence. With a focus on menswear and sartorial expression, this year's red carpet proved that fashion continues to be one of the strongest tools for cultural storytelling — and the Met Gala remains its grandest stage.
