A Night of Excellence to Remember: CLASS Bar Awards 2025 Celebrates the UK's Finest Bars

On the evening of May 21st, the Battersea Arts Centre in London hosted the prestigious CLASS Bar Awards 2025, bringing together over 600 professionals from the UK's vibrant bar industry. Having debuted in 2003, the CLASS Bar Awards is the longest-running UK bar industry celebration. The unique ceremony, organised by UK’s Class Magazine and co-hosted by Hamish Smith (editor of CLASS), honoured outstanding achievements across 21 categories, spotlighting the innovation and dedication that define the nation's cocktail scene.


Top Honours:

· Satan’s Whiskers, located in London's Bethnal Green, was the star of the night, clinching both Bar of the Year and Best Bar in London & the South East. The bar's commitment to classic cocktails served in a hip-hop-infused atmosphere continues to captivate patrons. Additionally, Keila Urzaiz de Calignon was recognised as the Front of House Star, highlighting her exceptional hospitality skills.

· Couch in Birmingham was awarded Best Bar in the Midlands & East Anglia. Owner Katie Rouse's dedication to excellence earned her the title of Bartender of the Year, reflecting the bar's harmonious blend of quality drinks and welcoming ambiance.

· Panda & Sons in Edinburgh took home Best Bar in Scotland, with Iain McPherson receiving the Bar Innovator of the Year award for his pioneering work in sub-zero flavour techniques.

Other Notable Winners:

· Connaught Bar (London): Hotel Bar of the Year, marking its fourth consecutive win in this category.

· Three Sheets Soho: Cocktail of the Year for the inventive "Sazzaquack".

· Lyaness (Sea Containers, London): Drinks Menu of the Year, celebrated for its collaborative and storytelling approach.

· Passing Fancies (Birmingham): Bar Food Menu of the Year, showcasing the culinary talents of co-owner Eve Green.

· Below Stairs (Leeds): Sustainable Practices Award, recognising their commitment to eco-friendly operations.

· Blinker (Manchester): Bar Employer of the Year, highlighting exemplary workplace culture.
