SACRA – respect, science and beauty rituals
When cosmetics bring together age-old tradition and cutting-edge biotechnology, they create a brand capable of turning the simple act of applying a cream into a ritual. It is in this context that SACRA emerges, a name that in Latin means “sacred things”. Founded by Georgiana Laura, the brand has just arrived in the United Kingdom with a concise collection of treatments that honour skin, people and the planet. Inspired by the ancestral knowledge of ancient European cultures and guided by a spiral motif, SACRA offers discreet regenerative luxury, where taking care of oneself is an act of reverence rather than conquest.
Origins: respect and ancestral wisdom
Thousands of years ago, societies living in what we now call Romania, Moldova and Ukraine including the Cucuteni culture studied plants to use them as remedies. That knowledge, handed down through rituals and daily practice, inspired SACRA’s principles. Cucuteni artisans carved spirals into clay figures to represent the cyclical rhythm of life: growth, renewal and return. Nothing was forced or rushed; everything followed nature’s timing. The brand incorporates this symbolism in its logo and its formulas, reminding us that the skin goes through its own cycles and deserves respectful care.
The founder’s insight
Georgiana Laura grew up in Transylvania, a Romanian region where herbalism is woven into daily life. She learned from her grandmother to treat skin with plant infusions and balms. Later, living in Costa Rica, she sought natural cosmetics to soothe her sensitive skin, but found many “natural” products lacked efficacy. That frustration led her to create SACRA with the support of a Romanian chemist, blending botanical extracts with peptide technology. She believes that luxury means simplicity, streamlined formulas and proven results: “I wanted to create products that worked in harmony with the body and treated the skin as an act of care, not correction”.
Philosophy: rituals and biotechnology
The essence of SACRA can be summed up in one word: respect. Respect for the body, for others and for nature. Instead of promising miraculous transformations, the brand proposes three spiral‑inspired cycles: protect, repair and renew by combining two complementary bodies of knowledge: traditional botanical wisdom and modern biotechnology. Its formulations unite ethically grown and harvested ingredients such as prickly pear, argan, avocado and macadamia oils with bio‑identical molecules like peptides that maintain firmness, squalane to replenish natural lipids, hyaluronic acid to retain water and a 4% concentration of glycolic acid for controlled renewal. Each ingredient is chosen according to dermo‑cosmetic principles and tested under medical supervision; instrumental studies assess hydration, barrier function, wrinkle reduction and sensitivity, with the aim of enhancing the skin’s natural rhythms rather than masking them.
The inaugural collection
For its British debut, SACRA offers three daily‑use products all vegan, fragrance‑free and free from alcohol and silicones presented in minimalist packaging and subjected to independent clinical testing.
Elixir Intense Bio Regenerating Serum: a high‑performance oil‑serum combining 11 botanical oils and vitamin E to restore lipids and radiance. In instrumental studies it increased hydration by 19.69% and reduced wrinkle width by 7.79%, with no synthetic fragrances.
Elixir Intense Bio Regenerative Day Cream: a lightweight day moisturiser formulated with hyaluronic acid, peptides and CoQ10, plus antioxidant oils and squalane. Tests showed a 14.02% increase in hydration and a 9.19% reduction in transepidermal water loss, strengthening the barrier and improving elasticity.
Ultra Clarifying Bio Exfoliating Serum: an evening serum with 4% glycolic acid, peptides and regenerating oils. It promises to refine texture without discomfort and, after four weeks, raised hydration by 12.38%, reduced wrinkle width by 7.13% and improved tone and pores, with no adverse effects.
A celebration of conscious care
As SACRA introduces its vision of conscious skincare to the British market, Avesso Magazine was invited to experience the brand beyond the products themselves, exploring the ideas, rituals and philosophy that shape its identity. The intimate launch at Tramp Health offered an opportunity to understand the story behind the label and its approach to modern wellbeing.
