Sanlorenzo's latest launch, the SL80A, captures this shift with remarkable clarity. The defining feature is its asymmetric layout, an architectural concept that subtly transforms the onboard experience. By reducing one side passage, the designers have reclaimed valuable interior space, increasing liveability by up to 20 per cent while maintaining the yacht's elegant silhouette. The result is an interior that feels open, fluid and unexpectedly spacious, with every room benefiting from a stronger connection to natural light and panoramic sea views.
Stepping inside feels closer to entering a beautifully designed contemporary residence than a traditional yacht. Floor-to-ceiling glazing invites the changing colours of the horizon indoors, while warm Thai walnut, bespoke Azteca parquet flooring and sculptural architectural details create an atmosphere of understated sophistication. Every material has been chosen to evoke comfort without compromising elegance, proving that true luxury often lies in restraint rather than excess.

One of the most striking elements is the staircase linking the main deck to the flybridge. Crafted from folded micro-perforated metal, it becomes more than a practical feature, acting as a sculptural centrepiece that catches the light throughout the day. It is details like these that reveal Sanlorenzo's approach, where architecture and craftsmanship are treated with the same importance as engineering.
The yacht accommodates four guest cabins, including a full-beam owner's suite, alongside generous living areas designed for effortless entertaining. Yet perhaps its greatest luxury is the freedom its size allows. Remaining below 24 metres means the SL80A can access secluded bays, charming harbours and intimate anchorages that larger yachts often cannot reach, making spontaneous afternoons in hidden coves just as much a part of the experience as glamorous evenings on deck.
